Liberty Clothes for Little Ones

These simply gorgeous Liberty Clothes for Little Ones have been made by Sue Shoesmith from the Lewes Sewing Bees. She has used Phoebe and Yellow Mitsi from my new Alice Caroline Exclusive range.  They work together in such a pretty way.  These are such lovely colours for the summer. Sue has added some really sweet and vibrant buttons to the front of the dress which work really well with the reds in the Phoebe. Sue tells me a little more about her sewing past and present. “I learnt to sew from my mother who made all of her own clothes as …

Beautiful Boy Quilts

Before we took the Quilt SOS quilts off to Lithuania, we took some photographs of these beautiful boy quilts.  This animal quilt is so sweet.  Made by Margaret Lupton, I love the design.  Mr Hedgehog and Mr badger are my favourites.  I absolutely love seeing the amazing quilts arrive at the studio.  We all get very excited when the parcels arrive. The patterns for the animals (except badger) are taken from an Elizabeth Hartman design called Fancy Forrest. We put all of the boy quilts together as we had such a wonderful number of them this year. Many of these …

The Making:  Anna and I have had such fun making these beautiful dresses for our little girls – yes we have been sewing whilst …

Liberty Pony Dress for Annabel

Last weekend, I made this really quick Liberty Pony Dress for my daughter’s friend Annabel.  It was her ninth birthday (Happy Birthday Annabel!) and there’s no better present than a home made one. The fabric:   This is one of my absolute favourite Liberty designs and is always really popular with little girls.  It is Annabel’s favourite Liberty fabric too, so it was an easy choice to make and perfect for this Liberty pony dress.  It’s called Emolly Can Can and is an amazing Liberty print with ponies and carousels.  See if you can spot the different Liberty prints in …

Lovely Liberty Easter Eggs

My Lovely Liberty Easter Eggs – I just had to have a go at making these fab Easter eggs this year – after the success of my Christmas baubles, I thought Liberty would look just as great on an Easter tree.  Inspired by Mary Berry and her program about Easter food and decorations, (there was a lovely Easter tree on the Easter feast table – but it would have looked even better in Liberty fabric!) I thought it was about time I had a go. Admittedly, there’s not that much time before Easter day – um it’s tomorrow but …

Liberty Baby Quilt

I am really excited to have been able to work with Rosie and Hannah from The New Craft House on this really gorgeous Liberty Baby Quilt. Rosie and Hannah were due to make and show off a beautiful baby quilt on Create & Craft TV  and approached me for some stunning Liberty fabric.  I put together a beautiful selection of blue and purple fabrics from my, now ridiculously huge, and ever growing stash of Liberty fabrics.  I, of course, jumped at the chance as putting fabric selections together is one of my very favourite things to do in life – …
