Christmas Cathedral Windows Cushion

I’m really excited to showcase this stunning Christmas Cathedral Windows Cushion.  It’s been designed by Suzanne Campion one of my customers.  I approached her earlier on in the year to make something using my exclusive fabrics. You may remember the cushion she made. As a result of this, lots of people asked for the pattern at The Festival of Quilts.  I asked Suzanne if she would ‘guest design’ the pattern for us.  Here it is.  Suzanne has made the cushion in these gorgeous Christmas colours. I’m selling this as a kit which is out now; the downloadable pattern will be …

Liberty Christmas Table Mats

These gorgeous Liberty Christmas Table Mats are sure to make your festive table shine.  This is the last of Sarah W’s Christmas projects. I asked Sarah about the project.  She said “This was my first attempt at free motion quilting and I’m thrilled with the result.  To make these table mats, I used a Christmas scrap pack and embellished with sequins and gold thread.  I also used one fat quarter of Capel Green to make the bias for the edging.  These were really fun to make and I can’t wait to use them on our Christmas table.” This sewing project …

Liberty Fabric Chain

Laura from the office has made this gorgeous Liberty Fabric Chain.  I’ve been so inspired by all of the sweet Liberty Christmas projects that everyone has brought in.  This is a lovely and easy project if you fancy doing some Christmas crafting. Laura has written a tutorial for the project. “I recalled making paper chains when I was younger and thought that experience could be re-created using beautiful Liberty fabric. This project would be a great one to do with young kids as there is no sewing involved, was super easy to do and the chain grows very quickly once …

Liberty Table Mat

I am delighted to showcase this rather lovely Liberty Table Mat, the second project by the Lewes Sewing Bee, Anne Commin.  Thank you so much Anne for making this sweet table decoration. This is what Anne had to say about the Liberty Table Mat: “The mini quilt is one of my favourite household objects. I use them all over the place – chests of drawers, side tables and bedside tables.  My mum used to make them out of the less worn out parts of favourite skirts and dresses that she had finished with.  Everyone should have a go.  Make it …

Liberty Kimono Jacket

Anna has made this super stylish Liberty Kimono Jacket using a gorgeous Liberty silk.  This jacket is perfect for a summer evening out.  It can be worn with jeans to create a casual yet smart look.  The shine and drape of the fabric really makes the garment shimmer and hang really beautifully. The fabric:  It’s called Juno’s Feather and is silk satin which drapes fabulously with a luminous high shine.  It’s edged with some silk left over from another project in a rather pretty colour.  If this silk isn’t to your taste then there are other Liberty silks too. The Liberty …

Lovely Liberty Maxi Skirt

Anna JP is taking over the blog today as she has made this rather lovely Liberty Maxi Skirt in one of the new fabrics from the new Palace Garden collection.  Over to her. With the launch of the new AW18 collection I was really happy to be asked to make something to showcase one of the beautiful new prints. As I’ve already got a lot of patterned tops I wanted to try a skirt this time. Being in a bit of a rush, I decided to work out a pattern myself rather than wait for one to arrive in the …

Liberty BBQ Cover – A Sizzling Summer Project

I’ve got some Liberty oilcloth in stock and we were thinking about what we could make from it. Anna JP came up with this fabulous Liberty BBQ Cover.  She’s used the Manning oilcloth which looks really great in her garden.  I’ve asked her to tell you about the sewing project below. About the Liberty BBQ Cover project, Anna says “I had been thinking about practical uses for the darker patterns of our oilcloth for some time, and decided to see if the green Manning fabric would work in the garden. A table-cloth, contrast-sided floor cushion, or barbecue cover all seemed …

Liberty Linen Dress

Laura has made this beautiful Liberty Linen Dress.  She’s used ‘Irma’ Sycamore Linen which is one of my all time favourite Liberty prints.  It’s the print which epitomises the perfect English garden and looks beautiful on this summer dress. The fabric:  Irma is such a beautiful Liberty print with watercolour florals from the spring / summer 2013 collection.  It was printed to retain the exact brush strokes and the tiniest pencil marks.  Pretty drawn plants include euphorbia, poppies, astrantia and iberis which all blend together to create an etherial meadow.  The Sycamore Linen fabric base is even and smooth which …
