A Beautiful Quilt – using Alice Caroline Exclusives

One of my customers Tracy Aplin has made this Beautiful Quilt for the Quilt SOS project.  She wanted to make a quilt using my exclusives.  Yes I thought! Here it is.  Gosh I really love the use of plain colours alongside the delicate tones of the exclusives. Tracy hand pieced the quilt top using a pattern by Judy Newman called Emma Mary. It comes in templates making it easy to cut with a rotary cuter and hand sew.  Here’s Tracy’s work in progress. She really enjoyed making it but also says that she wants to make it again in a …

This Liberty Confetti Quilt is the perfect quilt for my exclusives as it shows the fabric off really well.  The fabrics can really shine set against the pale background Tana Lawn. The exclusives all cut up and ready to start piecing with the nude Tana Lawn. The exclusives are beginning to shine …

Beautiful Betsy Dress

Beautiful Betsy Dress

The lovely Tracy Aplin (or Sewing Tracy as she is also known) has made this Beautiful Betsy Dress. The pattern Tracy has used for this Beautiful Betsy Dress is called Blitz by Sew La Di Da Vintage.  It’s a 1940’s style inspired dress.  The original pattern has an open neck and a Peter Pan collar.  Tracy changed the neckline to a curved edge and lost the collar which means it is a much simpler make. Tracy chose the new Alice Caroline Exclusive Betsy Pink Gold which looks really pretty and summery.  The gold in the fabric gives just a hint …

Love Liberty Customers!

I Love Liberty customers!  They never cease to amaze me.  I wanted to introduce one of my lovely customers to you. Tracy Aplin has been one of my customers for a while now and her sewing skills are second to none. Tracy recently came to my rescue with a sewing magazine.  When I launched the new Alice Caroline exclusive range, I was inundated with enquiries.  The magazines all wanted to showcase a project in the new fabrics.  We had so many requests, that it just wasn’t possible for me to make everything. Tracy offered (I asked really nicely!) to make …

Liberty Love Letters Quilt

I absolutely love this Liberty Love Letters Quilt!  I asked Jemima from Tied with a Ribbon if she would like to make a quilt from my exclusive Liberty fabric range, and she said yes!  I think you will agree that the finished quilt is stunning. It took a long time to develop the exclusive Liberty range of fabrics, so, to see it used in a finished quilt like this fills me with such happiness.  Half square triangles look so pretty all in a row!
